The Youth in Kenya constitute over 65% of our population below the age of 30 years.
The Bible Society of Kenya seeks to reach out to this population through
creative tools and scripture resources to enable them interact with God’s Word for transformed lives. We believe it is God’s word that forms the basis for moral behavior and values.
Outreach to the youth
On May 11th 2013 Rev. Dedan Kamau and Joseph Irungu from BSK visited Muongoiya Secondary School in Kiambu County to roll out the Take Charge programme. A total of 32 Christian union leaders were trained on how to use the book then later train others.
The interactions with the students were very shocking since the students shared some of the challenges they go through. The main challenges highlighted included negative media influence, lack of moral support from the church, parents and guardians who are unavailable to give guidance. This has contributed greatly in advancing immorality among the youth in the society today.
This programme was also launched in Kanunga High School on May 18th 2013. A total of 68 participants were trained.
