The Society held the first ever youth leadership training called “catalysing leaders training” launched in Kenya by the Bible Society of Kenya and International Bible Advocacy Centre.
The Catalysing Leadership training is aimed at equipping young leaders with leadership skills, knowledge, and values to become effective leaders in their communities. The programme targeted young leaders aged between 18 and 35 years, who demonstrated potential for leadership and a passion for community development.
The inaugural training was held physically for three days at the All-Africa Conference of Churches and was attended by 40 participants who were eager to learn and be empowered on leadership matters.
The training will be conducted hybrid (both virtually and physically) for a period of six months. The programme has adopted a holistic approach, combining leadership principles from the Bible, practical application from leaders in different professions.
The training sessions were facilitated by experienced trainers from BSK and IBAC including Prof. Mumo Kisau, Dr. Girma Mohammed and Dr. Joshva Raja who utilized interactive teaching methods, group discussions and interview sessions with guests to enhance the learning experience and encourage active participation.
At the end of the training, participants reported a significant improvement in their leadership abilities including decision making, problem solving, communication skills, increased biblical knowledge. The forum also provided a platform for participants to network, collaborate and share experiences with like-minded individuals, fostering a sense of unity among the leaders.
