For four days and nights, Christians from different parts of Kenya gathered to read the entire Bible aloud, verse by verse, in a continuous relay united by their faith and with a deep desire to immerse themselves in the Scriptures.

The Bible Reading Marathon is an initiative by the Forum for Bible Agencies (FOBA) to encourage people to read the Bible in their languages.

The marathon was officially opened at All Saints Cathedral by Dr. Nelson Makanda, the General Secretary of the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya. He urged Christians to be intentional about reading the Bible noting that the Word of God is life to all who find it. The rest of the marathon took place online on Zoom.

The marathon was more than just a reading event. It was a celebration of the Bible’s enduring power to inspire, comfort, and unite people. It was a testament to the dedication and commitment of the different organizations that planned the event.

The Bible Reading Marathon was a powerful demonstration of the transformative power of faith. It brought people together, regardless of their backgrounds, to share in the word of God. It served as a beacon of hope and inspiration, reminding us that even in times of darkness, the light of faith can guide us through.
