BIBLE TRIVIA SHOW IN KWALE COUNTY

Finally God opened a door for BSK to go to Kwale for the Bible Trivia Show; after a long struggle. Kwale is one of the biggest tourist hubs in East Africa. Ukunda, Diani beach, Shimba hills national reserve and Mwaluganje elephant century are just a few of Kwale’s most sought after tourists destinations in the world. This County is a beauty to behold.

The journey was long and tedious but the BASU team safely arrived in Kwale County, Diani. The Bible Trivia Show was hosted by Matuga Girls High school in the upper part of Kwale County. It’s is a hilly place, highly vegetated with beautiful trees of coconut, baobab and cashew nuts.

The Bible Trivia show was a success with five schools in attendance; Matuga Girls, Dr. Barbara
Diani secondary schools, Mazeras girl’s high school, Ramisi secondary school and Kinondo Second-ary school. They were welcomed by Mr. Elias Lwambi Chila the Christian Union patron. Mr. Fidel of Kenya Students Christian Fellowship (KSCF) preached on wisdom from Proverbs 10 and six girls gave their lives to Christ.
At the semi-finals, four schools battled it out including: Matuga girls high school, Dr. Barbara Diani secondary school, Mazeras girls high school and Ramisi secondary school. In the finals, Matuga Girls High School and Dr. Barbara Diani Secondary School battled it out for the county’s champi-on’s price.

Matuga Girls High School emerged the county champions, and was awarded 20 RSV Bibles. Dr. Barbara Diani Secondary School came in second and was given 15 RSV Bibles. Mazeras Girls High School came in third and was awarded with 10 RSV Bibles. Each competing student received a copy of CEV Youth Bible and a Certificate of participation.

The winning school said that the show had encouraged them to read the Bible more as it is
rewarding to be conversant with the Word and they got challenged to go deeper into knowing the Word of God.

The KSCF officials who were in attendance said they were happy to finally to have such an event in Kwale County. They said it was a great opportunity to expand Bible engagement activities in the area where there are plenty of challenges in outreach for Scripture engagement.

Zonia Nakato Mupe from Mazeras Girls High School said “It is very kind of BSK to consider Kwale for BTS as it has encouraged students to study the Bible as some students were dropping CRE as a subject in their studies”
