The GSP team conducted a children TOT workshop in Kisumu Nyalenda area. This was done in partnership with Maisha Project which rehabilitates Orphans and Vulnerable Children(OVC) within the Kano community.
33 participants who are mainly Maisha Project volunteers were trained as TOTs by the team.

The volunteers were taken through the program methodology of training so that they can reach out to the children in the community. Some of the volunteers had never gone through any training since they joined the organization and therefore it served as a better opportunity for them to be equipped with skills and knowledge. They also appreciated the concept and content of the program since it dealt mainly with children issues such as self esteem, the road about life, peer- pressure among many others.
Josephine Otieno had the following to say;‘’I thank God for the Good Samaritan training. I interact with children on daily basis and the topics being addressed are relevant to the many needs they are facing. Challenges with HIV in our community has been rampant and many orphans have been left by their parents out of the disease.

This is the most appropriate program I have ever come across and its going to help change the lives of soo many children.’’

The participants were distributed with 33 OVC resource manuals,33 Parent handbooks,101 OVC workbooks and 33 OVC flip charts. They were however encouraged to reach out to children with the program.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
