“I have not only grown in the knowledge of the Word of God through the listening programme but also learned how to be a servant leader! It was my joy to lead this listening group! ” Phanice Wakasa.

This is a testimony from one of the 32 graduates from Free Pentecostal Church Embakasi who graduated in a colorful ceremony on November 1st, 2020. This team had listened to the entire New Testament Bible in the Kiswahili language since December 2018! They could not hide their joy after successfully completing their journey.

Bible Society of Kenya avails audio Bibles in different formats including Proclaimers, Talking Bibles, Jesus film, and Audio Torches to help people listen to and apply God’s word in their lives. The audio Bibles are available in different languages for ease of understanding by the listeners. This programme is based on Romans 10:17 – “Faith Comes By Hearing and hearing the Word of God.

The participants formed listening groups where they would listen to the Bible once a week. The participants then listened and shared with their group members what they had learned.

The speaker of the day was Mr. Thomas Tharao, Head of Business Development. He congratulated the graduates and shared some points from Luke 10:1-30 to encourage them as they go forth to serve.

This programme has helped many Christians to be grounded in the word of God. There are remarkable spiritual growth, increased Bible knowledge, and intensified Christian service in the places where it has been used.

General Secretary Mrs. Elizabeth Muriuki lauded all the graduates for their dedication to listening to the programme. She encouraged other Church members to sign up for the programme and study God’s word. She added that BSK desires to see the Bible heard in every Church, learning institution, organization, hospital, children home, youth groups at least once every week so that many people can be reached and transformed with the unchanging word of God.
