Our focus is currently to revisit Makueni county and ‘finish the task’ started in 2023. A total of -3213-- Bibles were distributed then. Makueni county has a population of 259,252 school going children 10-19 years in both from primary and secondary schools. A big percentage of the county is arid or semi-arid making livelihood hard. Most of the families live from hand to mouth thus a Bible is luxury to them. An estimated with a poverty index of 3.1% 4805 children still don’t have Bibles. It is in this regard that we are launching a campaign dabbed ‘Hope for Makueni: A Bible in every hand, Hope in every heart’. 10 people giving each Kes.100 will support one needy child with a Bible, Kes.1000 will support a child, Kes.5000 will support 5 children, Kes.50,000 support a class while Kes.25,000 will help to avail Bibles for half a class. Our target is to raise Kes.5 million by the end of the year to avail Bibles to 5,000 students. Distribution of the Bibles will be done in February 2025.
