County level and the winners proceed to national level.

This year’s event took place during the Kenya Students Christian Fellowship National Convention held in Kilifi Township Secondary School. Eight schools from different Counties participated in the event that was filled with a lot of excitement. There was stiff competition amongst the competing teams as they had adequately prepared themselves to emerge top. The winner emerged to be Baringo Boys High School followed by Sosiot Girls High School and Maralal Boys High School in that order.

The three winners received fees tokens to motivate the students to get involved in the Bible Trivia event in the future. All participants received copies of the youth Bible and a certificate of participation while their teachers received a copy of the ESV Bibles. BSK is privileged to positively impact the lives of the youth as they are the leaders of tomorrow hence need to be adequately equipped now to impact future generations.

Testimonies

“Ever since our school participated in the County Bible Trivia show in 2015, we have seen increased interest in the reading of the Bible by students. This has changed the bad behaviour of some of us who were not very well behaved, and also the performance in the Christian religious education has improved amongst us. We really thank the Bible Society of Kenya for exposing and motivating us to better ways of reading our bibles” Says Mercy Chepchirchir, a form 3 student from Sosiot Girls

“My participation at the National Bible trivia show has increased my confidence and interest to read God’s word. I am encouraged to read my bible ‘between the lines’, to ensure I internalize all the details in a particular verse. This will increase my knowledge of the bible and I believe also to improve in my performance in CRE.” Says Isaiah Ochieng a student at Baringo High School.

“You know as we prepared the students for the competition, we involved a big group so that we eventually could select the best 3 students for the national competitions. That means we had a pool of several girl who were very well versed with their Bible knowledge. No wonder we came second during the competitions.” What we witnessed during that period and after, is that many students got interested in reading and understanding their bibles. In the end we had more students who have increased bible knowledge and love for God’s word. We pray that the knowledge they have acquired will change their lives and the interest in reading God’s word will continue beyond high school. We thank BSK for facilitating this.” Mr. Meshack Sang, the Christian Union (CU) Patron at Sosiot Girls High School
