Failing to plan is planning to fail is a renowned saying that relates to all facets of life for all people whether individuals or corporate organizations.
As individuals, a personal development plan is one way of ordering our lives and lest we do it, we may never account for our growth or progress. The Bible records that Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor meaning growth is undeniably a vocation. To achieve your personal goals, you cannot negate some aspects such as discipline, diligence, and decision making. Right? In the corporate world, organizations plan every year. They put across the expectations and strategize how to achieve the objectives and better surpass them.
These dynamics are no different in spiritual life. As a matter of fact, spirituality is a sphere to be considered in an individual’s personal development. See, a certain man in the Bible knew this. A strategy, perfect one beats your competitors. For us in the kingdom, our enemy is the devil. His scheme is to steal joy from us, kill the truths we know and destroy every good gift we have but how can we counter him especially a time as now?
King Jehoshaphat is the man. When Moabites and Ammonites came to make war against him, his men reported that their enemies were a vast army. The Bible records that the king was alarmed and together with his people, they sought the Lord. Similarly, we are under attack. The COVID-19 pandemic is a gigantic enemy that has come upon us, but we can choose to overcome it with a squarely sure strategy. Looking up to God.
One thing is crystal clear. King Jehoshaphat was so bear before the Lord and reminded him of the former things He had done for the Israelites, including taking out Egyptians who were a hindrance to their inheritance. Beloved, if God has conquered our battles before, as individuals, as nations, will He not do it again? The battle is fierce and bluntly speaking we are powerless and so limited like the Israelites, we do not know what to do, right? Scientists, medics, and leaders are all working day and night to find a solution to the pandemic but nothing yet. But there is hope. There is a sure strategy. “Our eyes are upon you,’’ the King said. (2nd Chronicles 20:12). We can do the same. Keep looking up to God. Deliverance comes from Him.
As we await the deliverance of God, let us take our positions in prayer, stand firm with the truth which is the Word of God, and indeed we will see the deliverance of the Lord. (2nd Chronicles 20:17)
