A Bible story well told has the power to spark the imagination, inspire exploration, give hope, create a smile, teach important lessons, and connect generations.

The Open the Book (OtB) is an exciting storytelling programme where Bible stories are shared with children in a manner that is fun, interactive, and memorable.

On September 14th, 2023, the Bible Society of Kenya (BSK) hosted a team of staff from Portuguese-speaking Bible Societies who attended an Open the Book training in Nairobi. After the training, the team had a chance to visit three schools i.e., Mwihoko Primary School, Karuri Primary School, and St. Monica Primary School, where volunteers dramatized Bible stories from the Lion Storyteller book.

The team appreciated the creativity demonstrated by the actors and the simplicity in passing the message in the stories. The other children in the schools were impressed by the lessons learnt through the acting and looked forward to more.

The teachers appreciated BSK for implementing the OTB programme in their schools and greatly appreciated the book of John that was given to all the children in the school, adding that they will learn more about God’s love for them.

The Open the Book programme is a valuable resource for children in Kenya. It helps them learn about God’s Word and how to live according to His will.
