Whether we recognize it or not, this truth daily confronts us, we face an enemy here on earth. A writer once said that everyone is fighting a battle that you have no idea about. This enemy is real and fierce, he will stop at nothing to try to bring you to defeat and destruction. He thrives in stealing, killing and destroying (John 10:10a)

We, however, have hope that God is greater than whatever we face here on earth. When Moses was leading the Israelites out of Egypt, God went ahead of his people in a thick cloud, and during the night He led them with a flame of fire. He further parted the Red sea so that the Israelites could pass while the Egyptian army was washed away. God is always working behind the scenes to give His people victory. 

As we end the month of April, we have many reasons to thank God. We have seen Him guide, protect, and fight for us through the month despite the anxiety and uncertainties all around us occasioned by the Covid 19 pandemic. Let us continue to thank God for the shelter He provides for us under the shadow of His wings (Psalm 91:1). 

God has given us His word that is powerful and true so that we will have the wisdom and courage to face our fears even as we fix our eyes on Him. Here are some verses that will encourage you in this season.

The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent. Exodus 14:14(ESV)

You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf. 2 Chronicles 20:17a (ESV)

For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight your enemies, to give you the victory. Deuteronomy 20:4 (ESV)

You shall not fear them, for it is the Lord your God who fights for you. Deuteronomy 3:22 (ESV)

But no weapon will be able to hurt you; you will have an answer for all who accuse you. I will defend my servants and give them victory. “The Lord has spoken. Isaiah 54:17(GNB)

The Lord your God who goes before you will fight for you, just as he did for you in Egypt before your eyes. Deuteronomy 1:30 (ESV)

When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. Psalm 34:17 (ESV)

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous hand. Isaiah 41:10 (ESV)

No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you. Joshua 1:5 (ESV)

Behold I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Luke 10:19 (ESV)

The Lord goes forth like a mighty man, like a man of war he stirs up his fury; he cries out, he shouts aloud, he shows himself mighty against his foes. Isaiah 42:13 (RSV)
