The Bible Society of Kenya had the opportunity to interact with its customers from Kakamega and its environs on May 29, 2025.
This forum brought together customers from several bookshops in the region who sell BSK Bibles.
The forum began with a welcome note from the Head of Business Development Mr. Thomas Tharao who thanked the bookshop owners for attending the forum and urged them to continue assisting BSK to spread the word of God widely through their outlets. He also talked about BSK’s work and programmes.
He added that Kakamega County has great potential for distributing Scriptures as it has people from diverse languages who would benefit from the variety of Bibles offered by BSK. He noted that the youth constitute a large population in Kakamega and Kenya at large and there’s a need to bring them back to the Word of God, which will guide them in living responsibly.
The General Secretary Mrs. Elizabeth Muriuki was in attendance and lauded the Kakamega branch for their active participation in BSK activities and events. She encouraged them to also promote the Society’s Bibles in their Churches and forums so that many people will hear the Word of God in their language. She thanked all the customers for honouring BSK’s invitation to the meeting.
The customers shared their views about the business environment, challenges faced and how to increase Bible sales in the region. The customers noted that they are glad to be part of the team that contributes to the furtherance of God’s kingdom as is articulated in our mission to make available and promote the use of Scriptures for holistic transformation of people’s lives.
The meeting ended with a meal served at the Logmma Regency Hotel in Kakamega. We thank God for a successful event.
