THE BIBLE SOCIETY OF KENYA
Dear Brethren,
I wish to express gratitude to God for our lives at such a time as this, even as the unfortunate news about COVID-19 cases have been reported in Kenya and other regions of the world. We are all aware of the negative impact that this pandemic has already had but our faith and hope as believers is in God to take control of the situation.
Because the Lord has enabled us to be alive and well, I urge us as believers and as members of the Bible Society of Kenya to be wells of hope amid the panic, hopelessness, and uncertainty as we hold on to the word of God that is certain and life-giving. We acknowledge the supremacy of the Word of God and His power to help us deal with the COVID-19 pandemic even as we take the outlined precautionary measures given by the government and the medical agencies to help curb the spread.
As believers in the Word of God, this is the time to pray and declare healing on our land even as we declare the promises of God upon ourselves, our families, our Country and the world at large. Prayer is our greatest weapon in the fight against this pandemic.
Our prayer is that the peace of God that surpasses human understanding will guard your hearts and minds, knowing that the Supreme God whom we trust in will keep us safe under his wings.
“For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.” Psalms 91:3-4 (ESV).
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9 (ESV)
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1(ESV)
