Bible Society of Kenya held a successful 54th National Annual General Meeting (NAGM) on March 29th, 2025, at All Saints Cathedral and virtually on zoom.
The NAGM is held annually for BSK registered members where they come to network, interact, receive reports of performance for the previous year, elect Council members and get projections on the upcoming plans for the year. The meeting was attended by members from all 13 BSK branches.
Bishop Charles Owour led the devotion. The sermon, themed “Do Not Be Afraid,” drawn from Isaiah 41:13 and Luke 1:5-13. Members were challenged to reflect on God’s guidance during various life seasons, based on these passages. The story of Zechariah and Elizabeth, their faithful service despite age and barrenness, was used as a reflection point. Members were encouraged to continue serving God faithfully, regardless of shortcomings and challenges.
In the meeting, new officials were elected to serve on the BSK Council including; Mr. Sam Abwoga – Board Chairperson, Mrs. Nyambura Musyimi – Vice Chairperson, Mr.Enock Ngeny – Treasurer, Prof.Mumo Kisau – Member Mr. Erick Odida – Member, Mr. James Mathenge – Member, CS Sharon Kisire – Member, Dr. Sospeter Gatobu – Member and Ms. Njeri Kang’ethe – Member.
Certificates of membership were presented to new members who registered during the year 2024 by the Outgoing Council Chairperson, Professor Mumo Kisau. Professor Kisau expressed his gratitude to the Council members for their unwavering dedication to advancing the mission of the Bible Society of Kenya. Furthermore, he encouraged active engagement from all members in implementing the Society’s initiatives across various counties, emphasizing the potential for significant community impact.
The General Secretary, Mrs. Elizabeth Muriuki, extended her appreciation to the members for their attendance at the meeting. She also acknowledged the invaluable support provided by the staff, which has been instrumental to the Society’s growth. Certificates of recognition were presented to staff members who have served the Society for five years or more, honoring their significant contributions.
