Modelling Christ Through Daily Examples

Passing faith to the next generation begins with living it sincerely. Children learn best when they see devotion as part of daily life, not just a weekend routine.

As Deuteronomy 6:6–7 reminds us, And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. Faith must first take root in our hearts before we pass it on through prayer, conversation, and consistent example.

Young people also need space to ask questions and develop personal conviction. By sharing God’s works, we help them see His faithfulness and build a resilient faith. We will not hide them from their children but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done. Psalm 78:4(ESV)

Finally, we must guide them with patience, prayer, and love. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us to Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. Each child should be nurtured with grace while trusting God to shape their lifelong walk with Him.

Passing faith to the next generation is not achieved through words alone, but through a life that consistently reflects God’s love, truth, and grace. When children see faith lived sincerely, are given room to ask questions, and are guided with patience and prayer, they are more likely to develop a personal and lasting relationship with God. Our responsibility is to teach, model, and trust God to continue shaping their hearts.
