Bible Society of Kenya and Clean Start Africa (CSA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen trauma healing and support the restoration and reintegration of women and youth affected by the justice system.

The MOU provides a practical foundation for training Clean Start Africa’s Trainers of Trainers, establishing healing groups and expanding trauma-healing interventions to incarcerated persons and correctional officers.

The General Secretary, Mrs Elizabeth Muriuki, noted that this initiative will provide a structured and coordinated approach to helping women, youth, and children affected by the justice system.

Speaking during the signing, CSA Founder & CEO Teresa Njoroge welcomed the partnership as an opportunity to drive a powerful cultural shift in how society responds to justice-impacted individuals upon release. With BSK’s extensive influence across Kenya’s Christian network and its engagement at policy and national levels, the partnership has the potential to open new pathways for challenging stigma and building communities of healing and acceptance and spaces where healing can take root in the communities.

Through this partnership, healing will be brought closer to those behind the walls and to those returning home. From trauma to healing. From stigma to acceptance. From incarceration to restoration.
