The African Biblical Leadership Initiative programme in Nairobi celebrated the end of the successful training of 55 young leaders by graduation on 14th September 2019.

Africa Biblical Leadership Initiative (ABLI) is a youth mentorship program meant to endow young leaders to be

accountable leaders who are driven by truth and integrity. ABLI is a 6 months training conducted by the Bible Society of Kenya and Emerging Leaders Foundation. The mentees are drawn from Universities, Colleges, Churches and leaders in the community.

The event was graced by various stakeholders and was full of colour and pomp. The General Secretary of the Bible Society of Kenya Mrs. Elizabeth Muriuki talked about the Society’s work noting that training young leaders is in line with the vision of seeing people transformed through the Holy Scriptures.

The ABLI programme seeks to empower young leaders today. The graduands were reminded that change only happens when one is committed to change individually. One should not expect change to trickle down from elsewhere, it starts at an individual, family, Church and community level.

The Chief Executive Officer of Emerging Leaders Foundation Miss Caren Wakoli gave three-pointers to the grandaunts as they go to serve in their various communities:

1) It is the beginning of their journey, their graduation is not the final step,

2) They should trust the process it won’t fail them and,

3) They should trust God’s purpose for their lives.

This programme has also been conducted in Nakuru and Kisumu Counties and their graduation ceremonies will be held on 21st September in Kisumu and 28th September in Nakuru.

To join this wonderful programme one should: Be born again, aged 18-30 years, serving in the capacity of leadership in their respective churches/organizations or passionate about leadership, willing to be members of the Bible Society of Kenya, commit to pay to pay a one-off amount of Ksh 5000/ and be available at least one Saturday each month for the period of the mentorship programme.
