What is trauma healing? It is a wound of the heart and mind that causes deep suffering.
Trauma can leave lasting impacts on our mental and emotional well-being. But healing is possible.
How does it affect us?
Trauma can manifest in various ways, including anxiety, depression, difficulty sleeping, and trouble forming relationships.
How can one find healing?
- Talk to someone trustworthy about how you feel. Don’t isolate yourself.
- Calm yourself by doing deep breathing exercises or a physical activity like walking.
- Take care of yourself by eating a healthy diet, drinking enough water and staying calm.
- Get involved in your community. Volunteering is a great way to create a sense of meaning.
- Try to do what you normally do as much as possible, even if you do not feel like it.
- Build a support system by connecting with loved ones and support groups.
- Be patient with yourself because healing takes time.
Remember, you are not alone. God feels our pain with us and wants to help us heal. That is why we have hope. Whenever there is trauma, healing is possible.
The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18(ESV)
