Bible Month is a dedicated period when Christians focus on reading and studying Scripture, while also supporting Bible work in Kenya and beyond. In Kenya, September is set aside to celebrate and raise awareness of this important work.
How can you participate in Bible Month?
1.Read and Study Scripture
Set aside intentional time to read and study Scripture, seeking to deepen your relationship with God and grow in your spiritual walk.
2. Pray for the Work of the Bible Society of Kenya as follows
a) Translation Projects
Pray for the translators serving on local-language projects, including the Mimbi Muthambi, Teso and Banyala translations. Pray for wisdom, accuracy, perseverance, and unity as they make Scripture accessible to their communities.
b) Bible Advocacy and Scripture Use
Pray that Bible advocacy and Scripture-use programmes will:
- Transform lives through meaningful engagement with Scripture.
- Inspire hope in individuals and communities.
- Guide and mentor young people.
c) Communities and Families
Pray for families and communities reached through Scripture distribution in Kenya and beyond. Pray that God’s Word brings encouragement, understanding, and lasting positive change.
d) Leadership and Governance
Pray for the Management and Council to lead the Society with wisdom, discernment, and unity as they work to make God’s Word accessible to all.
3) Support Bible work
Donate to help provide a Bible to someone in need or to a child in a marginalized community. Volunteer your skills to strengthen BSK programmes serving people of all ages, including children, young people, and adults.
Conclusion
Bible Month encourages Christians to deepen their engagement with Scripture and help others access God’s Word. Through Bible study, prayer, giving and volunteering, everyone can help transform lives and strengthen communities.
