Bibles for the visually impaired

The Bible Society of Kenya exists to avail God’s word to all people.

In October, the Society distributed 400 Braille Bibles to two schools in Siaya and Kakamega Counties i.e., St. Oda and ACK Koyonzo Special School for the visually impaired respectively.

Koyonzo Special School for the visually impaired started an integrated unit at a local school in 2017 with eleven children with visual impairment. The school has since expanded to enrol 124 learners with some students having multiple disabilities (physical and mental).

Through these Braille Bibles, BSK aims not only to provide physical access to the Word but also to nurture the spiritual growth of these young souls so that they too may experience the love of Christ.

The students in both schools were thrilled to receive the Bibles for the first time. They promised to read them and share them with their friends. The teachers appreciated BSK for the Bibles adding that they will help the learners to learn the word.

Kudos to our partners for their generosity and support of the great commission.
