The Young Samaritan programme is an empowering life skills programme that targets young people to prepare them for puberty and adulthood.
On 17th April 2025, BSK introduced this programme to 35 teenagers and their teachers at Machakos House of Prayer Church, held at the Machakos Golf Club.
The teens greatly enjoyed and engaged in every programme session, considering that it was new to them. The BSK team introduced my road and engaged the teens in dramatising the story of the Good Samaritan, which paved the way for meaningful interaction sessions with the teens.
YSP in Embakasi
Another successful training was held at the Anglican Church of Kenya in Embakasi, 21st to 23rd April 2025, attended by 68 participants. The teens were drawn from Embakasi and its environs, with the youngest being 11 and the oldest of the participants being 19 years old. The teens were open-minded, engaging, interacting, and fun-filled.
“Thank you, our facilitators, for helping us become the best versions of ourselves. The YSP programme has helped us. Thank you for giving us hope for a better future. We have discovered things we didn’t know about ourselves, discovered ourselves, and made friends during the sessions. We appreciate you.’’ Testimony from Stacy, a participant.
YSP in Nyeri
Through the Nyeri Branch Chairperson, BSK, held a YSP session at PCEA Githiru parish in Nyeri. The participants of this training were much older, ranging from 15 – 22 years.
The two-day sessions were fully packed with activities, and we were glad to have left a mark on the lives of the teens. The areas covered during the sessions were my road, sexuality, boundaries, friendship, peer pressure, sexuality, I am somebody special and communication.
We thank God for the opportunity to impact the young generation with knowledge and skills on how to navigate different seasons of life, guided by the word.
