Through the Coordination of the Kakamega branch, trauma healing training was conducted from the 4th to 7th March 2025 at Hellenis hotel.
The training was facilitated by Rev. Jeremy Ngotho and Rhodah Paterson and attended by 21 participants comprising a few members of clergy and individuals who had attended the convening session in 2024. A total of 18 participants graduated from the training.
The impact of the training was clear through the sharing and testimonies that took place during the sessions.
“The part of writing a lament helped me understand that when I lament, God is ready to intervene and when I take that pain to the cross, I am healed.’’ Peter
“During grieving, I realised the offender seeks forgiveness from me yet, he is the one who caused me a lot of pain. At last, I have accepted that Christ died for us all, including myself. So, I have forgiven him.” Mary
“I have been suffering from blood pressure but due to this training, it is cooling down at a high rate because forgiveness is in process, and I am deeply feeling it coming from my heart.” Janet
From our interactions we learnt that there is a need for more training in Kakamega County. We also encountered two participants who were directly involved in Kakamega prison and were eager to have Trauma healing trainings rolled out in the prison. We thank God that many received healing from the wounds of their hearts through the training.
